The last and final stop on our billion state tour of the Northeast was Scranton, Pennsylvania. Simply a town that fit into our schedule, a wayside for the night on the stretch back home. But we found it mesmerizing. It had a few different nicknames including The Electric City and Steamtown – both totally badass. The 1920’s architecture throughout the town was stunning, but there weren’t many people around to enjoy it. It’s a veritable playground for people like us, that seek out cities with the darkest and dirtiest pasts. We took these shots at the Steamtown Historic Sight – a memorial for the once steam-powered megaliths that linked our country, now residing in this out of the way town that will forever be the highlight of our trip.
